Are We Using Tech as a Tool - Or Letting It Take Over?
Yesterday morning, we had Buster’s weekly playdate with his golden doodle buddy, Furzie. These two have the best time together, but honestly, we look forward to it just as much as they do.
Furzie’s humans, Tom and Sally, have become good friends over this past year. They’re both retired teachers, thoughtful people, and always up for a good conversation. Yesterday’s topic? Technology.
We got to talking about how much has changed in just our lifetimes, and how fast it’s still changing and evolving every day.
Tom and Sally shared what they’ve seen in classrooms over the years, how students rely so heavily on technology now for things that once were core skills: Reading, writing, math, even social interaction. They expressed what many of us quietly wonder: What’s being lost along the way?
We think about that every day.
While we spend our days building AI-powered marketing systems and CRM tools to help businesses run more smoothly, we see technology for what it’s meant to be:
A tool.
A resource.
A way to lighten the load - not replace the skills, knowledge, and human connection that matter most.
Tom and Sally made a great point: Reading, writing, math, social skills - these should always stay at the forefront.
And they’re right.
Technology can be incredible. But it should SERVE US - not the other way around.
A Small Reflection:
When’s the last time you read a good book, not a blog, not a headline, but a real book?
When’s the last time you read to someone else, or had an uninterrupted conversation?
That’s the kind of simpler living we want to support:
Technology that helps business owners reclaim time.
Systems that ease complexity, so people can get back to what truly matters, without burning out.
A life that isn’t run by tech, but made lighter by it.
Because at the end of the day, simpler is better.
And no system or tool will ever replace the value of real connection, curiosity, and quality time.
We’d love to hear your thoughts, how are you using (or rethinking) technology in your life?
